After finding myself out of work, I needed something that would keep my brain working on an intellectual level higher than housework provided. I joined Photo a Day in August 2013, and it helped. However, my world was becoming very small as I traveled very little, even to town. I found by the end of August 2014 that I was struggling to find photos that werent just repeated. So I made a decision to take a break. Four days later, my life was turned upside down when my parents were involved in a car accident that took the life of my mother and kept my father in the hospital for three months. At the beginning of November, I decided to try again, but it wasnt long when I was dealing with the same problem as before. Depression was also becoming an increasing issue, and I prayed that God would help me find a way to deal with it on my own. My mother was no longer available to talk to. One morning, it came to me that I might try to write a story using the prompt as the title and take a photo related to the story. It seemed almost crazy but anything was worth a try. After all, I could only fail to deliver, and there would be no shame in that, just only in not trying. I surprised myself! There are some times when I would sit at the computer and have no idea what I was going to write and bit by bit the words would come. There have also been times when I have written more than one story. Other photos have also inspired stories. It was one of my daughters who suggested that I put 366 of them together so you will have a story for each day to read. These are much shorter than my other creations, but I still pray that they will inspire you to keep going when life throws you a spanner. Isaiah 55:8 says, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, said the Lord. How true!
