The name of a thing is its outer body, whereas its number is its inner spirit.  The outer body may change many times but the inner spirit remains the same.  We are now on the path of Teth, whose numerical value is eight.  Teth connects the 5th sphere of Geburah (justice/strength) to the 4th sphere of Gedulah (Mercy).  The  5th sphere of Gedulah is the planet Mars, corresponding to Tuesday, and the 4th sphere corresponds to the planet Jupiter, and Thursday.

These two extremes of Mercy and strength is the pathway of the tarot card  titled STRENGTH. In this card you will notice a woman gently playing with a lion.  Here is where diplomacy rules over force and violence. A lion is indeed a ferocious animal, but if it is tamed it can become a powerful ally.

The woman is soft and gentle whereas the lion is wild, which makes the perfect defendant for the woman. If you have valuable treasure, would it not be best to protect it with a wild animal.  The lion is the king of the jungle, and the zodiac sign associated with Teth is Leo.

There are creatures around us that are wild and others that are soft and gentle.  A dove is soft and gentle, whereas a tiger could be wild, who is best to protect the dove from the tiger other than a lion.  The lion owns the road between the sphere of Jupiter and that of Mars.  A woman’s beauty and gentility can calm even the wild beast within men.

Demons are like animals that are programmed to kill and destroy all that God wants to eliminate.  Their function is to cause death where necessary and weed out those that disobey God.  They have been given the freedom to function outside of the rules and laws of God, which is necessary for them to able to perform their duty.

Their natures are the like the wild animals of the forest and they are have been made to even overpower the wild beasts of the jungle.  When men and women go off tangent, God then sends his demons to cause us pain, that quickly reminds of God.  When Sodom and Gomorah  went astray, the demons of God were sent to destroy their city, headed by Lucifuge.

Demons exist to keep chasing after us like dogs, that we must run aware from otherwise they will devour us if we stand still. Like any game, one must win to gain the trophy.  As they come after us, it is up to us to keep ourselves armed with the names of God, strengthened from within and without with strong walls that the demons cannot penetrate.

The demons are like thieves that keep breaking into your house just for having weak locks, which makes us put stronger locks on our doors. They are made to be fierce, like the serpent of paradise.  The lesson is to remind us that pain and joy exist side by side, and that without night they will be no day.
