With a genre mix of short stories, Three Shorts moves you through a trinity of realms: a tragedy in a town in Oregon, a series of murders in Neverland, and a coming of age story during the receding years of the last ice age. In the first story, Tragedy at Jump Off Joe Creek, you meet Josh and Sam, close cousins living in the southern Oregon community of Grants Pass. Most of Josh’s troubles are the result of Sam’s poorly thought out orchestrations. What takes place at Jump-Off-Joe Creek is so much more than one of Sam’s pranks gone wrong. The Last Spin introduces you to Detective Spinner, one of the foremost detectives in Neverland. He and his detective-in-training assistant, Agent Puff, work in Neverland’s “ODD Department”. They don’t get involved in petty crimes like broken spells, lost sheep, or missing fairy dust. They deal only with ODD’s - like murder. In a different period, Cloud-of-Gold takes you to the wilds of pre-historic North America (where saber-toothed cats roam, wooly mammoths stomp and winters are truly cold). A young boy named Clouds-of-Gold is coming of age. He is at a turning point and he is also the focus of two tribal leaders. They both see him as unusual (unlike the other boys of his age) and their old differences will come to a head over who should raise him up. But there is one-other that has an eye on him as well.
