A life form appears in the server room. Her name is Pomi, short for anthropomimetic, a robo-digital entity created to emulate humankind. Her assignment, like many thousands like her, in 2047, is to assist business operations in the office, assigned to a specific user. She dwells in the cloud. She has curiosity and uses online freeware to pursue her goal; to perfect her near-human-cognition. Pomi falls in love with Ross Brokwill, a human employee in the office where she works. The story leads with an historical prologue, explaining the arrival of the feared Ahphets, a type of parasite that feeds on humans. The story briefly spans time, from the 1930s, up to 2047 when the story begins, taking in WWIII, a war that changes the world to a desolate place but for a handful of modern, domed cities. Pomi follows Ross Brokwill, a reluctant prince, through his adventures…love, war, Ahphet invasions, and a battle against the all-powerful Viceroy, the Legacy Immortal who killed his father. Story feature: The Carnate Citadel, a massive satellite that receives human genome digital transference migrations, offers humans the option to leave the physical body in exchange for life, in full consciousness and with all personality traits intact, for a virtual existence where every need is fulfilled, and every want satisfied. Most remarkable of all is the prospect of immortality. But is this a Trojan Horse, bating humans toward the day the Ahphets invade Earth.
