The Rising

The Rising surrounds a group of survivors who are determined to find a cure for the government-induced zombie apocalypse. What was once meant to be a temporary disease to act as population control has since emerged as a potential extinction event. In this pilot, Jacob Wright, the protagonist of The Rising, attempts to find his group after a failed six month search for a cure, whilst also trying to survive against a terrifying group of people known as the 'Hearttakers'. As Jacob makes his way back to his group, flashbacks take place, showing how the attempt for population control took place.
