During the time that the author was living in Nepal (2001-2007) and studying various meditation techniques as well as an overall science of the mind with her Tibetan Buddhist spiritual masters there, she visited the 'Caves of Immortality' at Maratika, in Eastern Nepal and Mount Kailash in West Tibet. Unaware of the sub-conscious effect of these journeys on her mind, she was subsequently asked to make a film about life in the Muktinath valley, high up in the trans-Himalayan region of Mustang in Nepal. Wanting to make the layout of the film more interesting, she attempted to make it "dance" in a circular way rather than following an ordinary linear layout. This, and something lying dormant in her mind from the trips to Maratika and Kailash, resulted in her creating an unusual geometrical art piece that was later entitled, 'The Circle of Immortality'. Visuals of this simple to construct, yet complex image were added into the film and it was also given the same title. Through an in depth commentary on the movie's narration, "The Pyramid Spiral‚ Dance of the Five Elements" describes this art piece in detail, looking at the process of the manifestation of appearance from its very subtlest to grossest state. This step-by step description of how the five elements literally dance each and every aspect of existence into being, connects us to the vital process of what is really occurring in our minds and around us in the world at large at every moment. It is a journey of sacred geometry, whereby we connect inter-dimensionally with the entire spectrum of existence, yet stay right here in this moment with the whole of time at our fingertips. Susan was born in the United Kingdom in 1973, but wishing to 'know the world at large', she has made integrated travel the basis of her adult life. After arriving in Nepal in 2001 she received initiation into the vast spectrum of great teachings and spiritual practices of the Vajrayana path of Tibetan Buddhism and has undertaken various retreats to attempt realization in subsequent years. Susan currently lives with her family on a mountainside in the heart of the Indian Himalayas.
