One of my more interesting problem solving requests took me to the Taj Mahal. No there were no problems with the gem of one’s ultimate expression of love. I went there to intercept and meet Maurice and Ted, a couple sailing around the world in their fifty five foot sloop. I posed as a friend of a friend. I knew enough about their friend to be able to converse and tell stories about him for hours. They never detected that I really had no clue who the fellow might be. We met at the Taj and toured it together. The Taj brings people together. By the time we left the Taj, I had an invitation to sail with them on their ship “Lazy Girl”. Their next destination upon leaving Mumbai was to sail to Karachi, Pakistan. Their route would take them to Karachi, Sur, Oman and then to Bosasa, Somalia. It was from that point onward that I would be involved in keeping them from becoming hostages of the pirates that controlled the coastal waters.
