It had been a great round the world tour. Adam was sitting by the window in the emergency aisle on the right side of the plane. He watched as, first one very attractive brunette sat down beside him and then a petite well built blond took the aisle seat. Two very good looking ladies were sitting next to him.
“My lucky day,” this he thought might be the best part of the trip. How was he going to handle two good looking women sitting next to him?
“Carefully,” he thought to himself with a smile.
His Dad always said, “Stopping stampeding cattle is an easier job then dealing with women.”
The take off was uneventful. Then the situation changed dramatically. Several men stood up waving guns and began shouting for everyone to put their heads down. It was complete confusion. Several of the men succeeded in getting into the cockpit. Meanwhile the rest kept everyone in their seats with their heads down.
The plane began a slow turn back toward the city. What in the world could they be planning? Were they going to land and then fly off somewhere? The Statue of Liberty came into sight. They were not returning to the airport. Adam realized the young lady next to him was holding his hand. He looked over to her and saw tears in her eyes. He squeezed her hand. Suddenly a terrific impact slammed him forward. He hit his head on his knees. He saw the flames engulfing the plane. There would be no escape. They were dead.
Adam slowly opened his eyes. The room was empty and barren. Maybe this was the way death occurred. The bed seemed to have form fitted itself to his shape. Neat mattress he thought. An old man came into the room and Adam tried to talk him.
