In the year 2015, a civil attorney, Rick Meyers reads the L.A. Times’ headlines article of the June 3rd issue. In the first half of the year crime has risen 1000% due to the ongoing financial crisis. People are desperate and are committing crimes at alarming rates, the prisons are swollen with over-population causing criminals to be pardoned at alarming rates. Rick finishes the article and throws the paper to the ground. He is a passionate caring man in his middle 30’s, with a fiercely independent nature and a strong commitment to justice. Despite the senseless murders of his wife and infant child, despite witnessing the horrors of everyday life outside his office window, despite the frustration he experiences to appropriate new laws against the new criminal elements, Rick is determined to find answers to stop the demise of the city.
The government in an attempt to deal with the out-of-control crime and illegal immigration passes a new law called The Point System. Every man, woman and child must report to processing centers to be tattooed with laser bar-codes. The bar-codes are placed on the left wrist and contain every bit of personal information possible, birth date, employment history, criminal record and 1000 points. Every crime is a certain point deduction-murder being 1000 points. The guilty are automatically terminated. No appeals. No second chances.
Rick is very doubtful about the new law. He shows up for processing, but at the last minute, backs out.He realizes the he cannot support a system the brands the innocent as well as the guilty.
The militia groups gear up for the fight of their lives. The police and vigilante groups are out of control. Time is running out for the militia group, the country and for Rick. Who will be left standing after the battle for freedom erupts?
