Guru simply means a guide. If you are lost in a city and someone guides you to your destination, that person is your guru. In every step of life, someone or the other is guiding us, teaching us. Thus a guru is necessary in every step of worldly life progress. Then there is the need for the right and true guide in matters of spirituality and liberation. Especially here, on the path of spiritual progress a guru is very necessary. Spiritual progress is significantly helped by the grace and help of the one who has traversed the path and attained the goal. Without an experienced and true guru, significant hazards and blocks impede the path of the seeker of liberation.

Gnani or Jnani is the One who has known, is in the experience of, the eternal Self. Purush means the Self. Akram Vignan means that which is attained without doing anything, and the science behind this. A gentleman by the name of Ambalal M. Patel became a Gnani Purush in June 1958. This happened spontaneously within him. The absolute light of the Self prevailed in him from that time. In that state of the absolute Self, he became the instrument for the salvation of the world. The words that came out through his medium have become words that are now liberating hundreds of thousands of human beings who were seeking meaningful solutions for their pains. These satsang sessions of the Gnani Purush happened in Gujarati and were carefully preserved and are presented as they are, in many different languages. They are all in the form of questions and answers from Gnani Purush Dadashri.

In this compilation of satsang of direct question and answer sessions, Dadashri reveals the delicate nature of the relationship between the guru and the disciple in the path of liberation and Self realization. All aspects of this relationship, and questions regarding this, are answered with unprecedented clarity by the Gnani Purush. When facing difficulties and conflicts in worldly interaction, one may get help from different teachers or gurus, and may even ask multiple people for help. However, this is not easy to do on the path of spirituality because of the rarity of a true guru.

This book clearly explains why a guru is necessary in matters of liberation. it explains the method of recognizing a true guru for this. It provides significant insights about the relationship between a living spiritual master and the disciple. Every seeker regardless of the method or the goal of his or her spiritual practice will find invaluable understanding in this book of Gnani Purush Dadashri.
