Superstitions: What's True?

Knock on wood, wear a particular garment or bring good luck if an object are just some of the hundreds of superstitions that man has invented. However, taken as superstitious behavior is not always effective, we tend to think there is some hidden force that governs the event. Looking at the facts, however we understand that the superstitious gesture is not the cause of what happens and common sense would suggest to stop practicing it. Instead, it prefers to insist, in the hope of propitiate occult forces. This human characteristic has intrigued many behavioral scientists, who see a contradiction inherent in an approach that tends to keep the man but which is, according to reason, completely useless. Some researchers then wanted to further study this phenomenon, discovering amazing things.
