It was an awful day, Jack, looking out the window, saw Belle crossing the street wit a box of donuts. He shook his head, "what a weather to work in," he thought, when Belle came in. The telephone gave a sharp ring. It was the police chief Bill Smart, that said he needed some help. Give me half an hour to finish my coffee, and we'll be over, he answered. An hour later the phone rang again. "You should be here half an hour ago, what is happening?" Looking at Belle, Jack said. "We forgot Bill. Let's drive over there and see what he wants." Arriving at Bills office, they were asked to help with today's crime wave. I believe that every small scum of criminals are out today. Our telephone won't stop ringing." "How can we help?" asked Jack. Then Belle said, "can all these small crimes be to get your attention away from a big one?" "Mus be," answered Bill, "But where?" "Well we have the diamond exhibition over at the Exhibition Hall, could that be it?" said Belle. And both she, and Jack drove over to the exhibition hall. Coming over there. the two saw that all the big stones were located close to the back door. Jack and Belle walked out to the loading dock, and Belle pretended to fall, but took a hold on a truck door, and saw three large boxes with tarp covering them. In the pouring rain, she followed the truck, and when the driver stopped, and started to unload, she helped him and put the boxes in her own car. Driving to the police station with the boxes, Jack that just had arrived helped her. Some time later they could hear shots fired from the front of station. The diamond thieves wanted the stones back. It took some good shooting from Belle and Jack to change their minds.
