It recounts the scientific career of Lewis, together with accounts of his hospital work and teaching, and his familiy life and hobbies. There are over 100 illustrations including Lewis and his co-workers, and much of the information about Lewis has been derived from first hand accounts by his former associates. This biography appeal to cardiologists and to those physicians, surgeons and research workers with a special interest in the skin, pain and vascular disease, as well as clinical physiologists and medical historians.
