Saint Columba

Every nation in the world has its own folklore heritage — legends, myths, fairy-tales. In such stories the wisdom of every nation is collected and embodied, although some of the nations have similar tales, especially those who are neighbours. Tales are stories that are supposed to teach the coming generations by depicting various situations and various types of behavior demonstrated by the heroes. Saint Columba is an Irish folk tale. The story revolves around Columba, an Irish saint and his relationship with a group of druids. Columba and druids represented two cultures, which were clashing all over northern Europe in dark ages. Old, yet strong traditions of Christianity encountered ancient northern traditions of druidism.
