Running from Heartbreak

Now, she was lost in the middle of nowhere and talking to herself. That’s rich, she thought in silence. The faint feeling overwhelmed her again and she stretched out on the grassy turf under the tree.
She placed her blouse beneath her head. Shea didn’t mean for it to happen, but she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. Even the heat didn’t keep her from taking a much needed rest.
Shea awoke with a start hearing a noise. She glanced around and saw that dusk had fallen. She stood quickly and stumbled forward falling on a rock that jutted out on the hard surface of the rugged landscape. Her head hit the rock and blackness followed.
When she eventually lifted her eyelids, the headache pounded through her scull with a throbbing intensity. She quickly sat up hearing a noise again.
