Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Preferring romance over realism, he admired their works as well as those of Alexandre Dumas Père, Henry Fielding, William Makepeace Thackeray, fellow Scot Robert Burns and many others. 'Kisa The Cat' is a fairy-tale first published in 1904 as a part of the collection book 'The Brown Fairy Book'. The story tells us about a queen who has a cat and a kitten but doesn't have a baby. The queen is depressed by that fact and the cat decides to help her. She goes to consult a fairy and soon the queen gives birth to a baby, a beautiful girl. The baby loves to play with the kitten and can't fall asleep without it by her side. But one day the kitten is nowhere to be found...
