What is Asthma? Asthma is a chronic disease that inflames the airways whereby the respiratory passage becomes filled with mucus. If you have ever suffered from asthma you know it is a shortness of breathe, coughing, chest tightness, where you hear a wheezy sound in your chest everytime you breathe. Breathing is a struggle and often also leads to exhaution. People who suffer from asthma will look for places where there is fresh air such as sitting outside or leaving windows open. Millions of people around the world suffer from asthma, most of the time asthma runs in the family. Although there is no cure for asthma, asthma can be managed, there are treatments available that give you the opportunity to lead a normal life.
