How the Posture of Researcher-Practitioner Serves an Understanding of Choreographic Activity
Joëlle Vellet (France)
In this chapter the author studies the transmission processes during the dance creative process, specifically the forging of gesture and of discourse, as it occurred between French choreographer Odile Duboc and her dancers. Her research approach problematizes her insider-dancer position, to which she responds by developing an original methodology in which she observes what she calls “discourse in situation†and conducts “stimulated recall†interviews.ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ
