The story that kicks off the entire Volkov Universe. Dani Volkov is your typical slacker backyard genius with a flair for creativity. Though she is a young budding prodigy with an IQ that eclipses Einstien in his prime, she does lack in certain areas of social discourse. One would think that the young mad genius with three robot cats would have built a time machine in her garage because she was looking for a challenge, but in truth, she was simply running away from her problems. She has been running away for five long years and now she is stuck in a medieval period with a busted time machine and drowning in an ocean of lies she herself has created. She finds herself living a double life as both Dani Volkov, mad genius extraordinaire, and Daniel Thunderblade, the gentle dictator King of a small kingdom. As she struggles to find herself buried within the lies she has built, she will soon find herself fighting tooth and nail for the people she has grown to love. Perhaps she is something in between the two personas and the answer to all of her woes is to simply stop pretending, no matter the consequences. Either way, she needs to get home to 2085 and recharge her cats.
