‘Why she decided to wait until the evening to come to the house, she didn’t know. It had always scared her to walk up the path, which was more like a long driveway. Memories flooded her mind taking her back to when she was younger with her brother and two sisters playing along the path near the house.’

Jessica's world is turned upside down when she moves into her ancestral home of Rose Manor. She discovers the stories that she loved so much as a child are true. Not only do the other realms exist but her best friend has been kidnapped and taken to one.

Jessica joins her family in a race against time to get her friend back from the clutches of her evil uncle and gets more than what she bargained for as she learns to use her new powers.

Jordan is glad to see his sister once again and finally realises a few home truths about what’s really important in life.

EDITORS REVIEW

‘A Call to Destiny’

After ‘Into the Realm’ I was eager to begin reading the second novel from The Call of The Rose series written by Chanelle Nash, called ‘A Call to Destiny’. Chanelle starts this book at Rose Manor the ancestral home of the ‘Elfin’ family.

The story begins with Jessica making her way to Rose Manor just as Jordan had done. She is later joined in the house by Charlotte, her best friend. Within the first twenty-four hours of being there, they decided to see if they could unravel any truths contained in its walls.

Jessica finds out there is more to her family than she realises and finally finds out the truth about her brother. Charlotte’s dreams are becoming more vivid and she is more and more confused at every turn. Jordan finally buckles under the weight of his feelings for the blonde bombshell that is Charlotte Finnissy.

In this novel, Chanelle expands on the story of the ‘Elfin’ family and makes you question what will happen next in this gripping and amusing fantasy novel. I loved the power play between Isabella and Richard Elfin and the comments and snide remarks the main characters say to each other. I would have to say that Mattias is shaping up to be one of my favourite characters with his dark and brooding personality. I cannot wait to find out the secrets within his character and I look forward to reading more from this author.
