Over 160 films have been made of his novels. In the 1920s, one of Wallace's publishers claimed that a quarter of all books read in England were written by him. He is most famous today as the co-creator of King Kong, writing the early screenplay and story for the movie, as well as a short story "King Kong" (1933) credited to him and Draycott Dell. He was known for the J. G. Reeder detective stories, The Four Just Men, The Ringer, and for creating the Green Archer character during his lifetime.

Bones (1915)-

Occasionally an author will create a character of such vivid personality, such charmingly human attributes, that he ceases to be a "character" and becomes, to the reader, an individual — a friend. Mr. Wallace has done this with Mr. Augustus Tibbetts, called "Bones."

Bones in London (1921)-
Here we are shown Bones as a business man. He is prepared to finance anything—anything! His indiscretions serve him well, for although all the financial cut-throats in the City centre are on his trail, they achieve nothing but his further enrichment. There is a chuckle in every chapter, even in those devoted to his courting. Good business stories are so rare that the reader can't afford to miss this.

Angel of Terror (1922)-
Angelically beautiful Jean Briggerland is a sociopathic criminal, so lovely that none can see her guilt -- even in connection with the most blatant crimes! Can Jack Glover, best friend and lawyer to Jean's latest victim, bring her to justice before she murders her way to unspeakable wealth and power?

The Clue Of The Twisted Candle (1918)-
An excellent locked-room mystery by the master of British thrillers.

The Joker -
While the millionaire Stratford Harlow is in Princetown, not only does he meet with his lawyer Mr Ellenbury but he gets his first glimpse of the beautiful Aileen Rivers, niece of the actor and convicted felon Arthur Ingle. When Aileen is involved in a car accident on the Thames embankment, the driver is James Carlton of Scotland Yard. Later that evening Carlton gets a call. It is Aileen. She needs help!

Jack O' Judgment (1920)-
Who was the mysterious avenger whose hooded form sent terror into the dark haunts of the underworld? This English detective story has an entirely concealed outcome, and the usual escapades and escapes from or to justice are freshly told.

The Book of All Power (1921)-
To say what was in THE BOOK OF ALL POWER, that book which was desired by so many from Soviet officials to His Imperial Highness, would be to rob Mr. Edgar Wallace of half of the thunder. Suffice it to say that what the book really does contain comes as a splendid surprise in the last few pages of an especially vivid story. For from the moment that the hero gets his appointment with an oil company in Russia, to his emergence from that country with a Grand Duchess as his wife, there is not a page empty of pulsation and excitement.

Tam O' The Scoots (1919)-
The entertaining World War I exploits of a cockney aviator -- supposedly Charles Lindbergh's childhood inspiration to fly.

The Man Who Knew (1918)-
This story of the amazing adventures which come into the life of a retired diamond merchant, who comes from the mines of South Africa to London, is clever in plot and effective in style. As a writer of detective stories, Mr. Wallace occupies an enviable place. The Man Who Knew shows him at his best.
