But she comes back from across the Pale not alone.
Within a supportive, nurturing environment that is based on love Katherine puts her sense of self together, finds her passions in life, and then pursues those passions through her life to age 20 when she graduates from university and accepts a commission into the U.S. Air Force.
Along the way Katherine has to deal with and overcome challenges that would stop most other people. She uses an unexpected love for gymnastics to establish her image of self and emerge as one of the best Artisitc Gymnasts in the world. On that journey she finds an equally unexpected friendship that promises to be with her throughout her life.
A life's journey is never simple, straight-forward or smooth and such is the case for Katherine as well. She ultimately has to answer the question of what does she truly want to do with her life and how valuble is that friendship she makes?
