Here are some lesser known facts about management and how it impacts on our daily lives:-
If we don’t plan our life others will do it for us (the only catch being that others will do it according to their whims & needs not yours). If you do not have a clear agenda for a meeting then everyone will push it in different directions.
All of us have 24 hours in a day (be it the President of the Nation or the guy flipping patties at a local burger joint). Some of us know how to use the hours effectively and some of us have yet to learn.
We cannot do all the work ourselves (i.e. we aren't independent but rather inter-dependent). While it is true that no-one can do it like you there may be people that can actually do it better or faster or instead of you.
We all get judged by the results we deliver (be it business, family or society). The results speak for themselves; if the result is good then it means everyone did their job if the result is bad then often it is the guy in charge that did not do his job.
Goals are personal mile points that you need to define, then find a way to achieve them and then move ahead and implement your plan, it’s as simple as a three step approach.
Enjoy the ride as much as the end results. The sad reality is that sometimes we don’t get to the end result so make sure you enjoy the journey as much as the anticipated result, if you get to enjoy both then it’s a real winner.
