A GRAVE MISUNDERSTANDING is a dark, fast-paced thriller that takes place in and around a second-rate tourist chalet, high in a secluded mountain valley. Here, the owners, a pretty, young immigrant woman, Ana, and her smooth, fugitive lover, Dick, struggle to survive in a world of disillusion and sexual intrigue.

Ana is in her last stage of pregnancy when she accidentally kills her drunken husband, Mike, while he is raping her. She and her boyfriend, Dick, who is unwilling to face the scrutiny of the law, set out in the midst of a violent rain storm for a remote mountain graveyard, where they hide Mike’s remains in the casket of his first wife. Mike’s corpse is barely disposed of when Ana goes into labor. Her child, Mickey, is born with frail legs and has disturbing nightmares about Mike and a fearful, imaginary snake.

Dick and Ana’s life goes on without any major problems, until seven years later their fool-proof scheme is almost unearthed when the county decides to relocate the graveyard in order to build a new highway.

This development turns their world up-side-down, and sets in motion a mess of unintended bloody murders, treachery, madness, and illicit sexual encounters. Their fool-proof scheme brings down everyone they touch – except for the one person who sees a light of hope at the end of a very dark tunnel.
