Cartoons are used to model the three major parts of a sentence, the Complete Subject, the Predicate and the Prepositional Phrase. The relationship is a sentence has a head, a body and a background. For example: The dog is running by the tree. Who! What! Where!

The activities are formatted like comic book pages, but they are embedded with transitional phrases, which guide the student and inspire the imagination. For example... In the beginning..., That is when..., Who would have thought... The students are also given a simple to draw cast of characters, bugs, kids, aliens, sea life, ect. that tie into the subject matter.

The activities are organized, so that the eight major parts of speech create a sentence. For example: The funny bear is standing quietly by me. The student see the whole picture. Determiner, Adjective, Noun, Auxiliary Verb, Verb, Adverb, Preposition, Pronoun. The activities are simple, fun, and enlightening.
