From the moment I first picked up a Subbuteo player I was in trouble. My happiness had become dangerously dependent on football results, and I was only 5-years old.

I soon learned that football isn't an entertainment in the true sense of the word. Whilst I can enjoy the experience of watching a lower league team in a creaking stadium on a wet and windy Tuesday evening, or televised games between teams that I feel no allegiance to, watching Chelsea is like watching a friend in peril whilst I stand by, helpless, and most of the time I can't handle it. But I can never let it go. Football should be more like the movies, and out there somewhere there has to be a happy ending.

Spanning the years from 1975 to 2012, Written In The Stars documents a quest to find that ending; starring Chelsea, the faithful, enigmatic wife who wins the lottery; and with guest appearances from Manchester United, the jilted ex-lover who blossoms following a messy break up; Wimbledon, the quirky, down-trodden mistress; and one large and very shiny trophy.
