A spectacular visual history of the 1969 music festival that Time magazine called “the greatest peaceful event in history.”

They were three days that changed a generation. Capturing the spirit of the times with its earthly look and mix of 350 color and black-and-white photos, Woodstock: Peace, Music & Memories recreates the generation-defining music festival through the accounts of musicians, sound engineers, and journalists, as well as the concertgoers themselves.

Presented here are the personal recollections and never-before-seen pictures of some of the 500,000 people who were at Max Yasgur’s farm in 1969. Also included are a foreword by festival co-creator and promoter Artie Kornfeld, commentary by longtime peace activist and Woodstock insider Wavy Gravy, and a special section on Woodstock memorabilia with current values.
