Zoe has split up with her boyfriend. Now, all she wants is to be safe, caring for small children in a Paris school. But a violent incident rocks her world, after which a colleague invites her to an idyllic Greek island to recover. While on holiday, she finds a wristwatch that that gives her such scary experiences whenever she touches it that she feels compelled to trace its owner. Zoe longs for peace and security, yet somehow violence never seems far away, and people are not always what they seem. Between France and Greece, her life will be changed forever.
