Human Beings (Home Sapiens) first appeared on Earth (in Africa) about 300,000 years ago. This had been preceded by the birth of our Universe about fourteen billion years ago, and by the birth of our Solar System about five billion years ago. The diameter today of our Universe is estimated to be at least 156–554 billion light-years (one light year = 5.879 trillion miles) in size. Our Earth with a diameter of about 8,000 miles, is infinitely small within our Universe – relatively speaking, less than a grain of sand. During the life of our Solar System, our World has evolved over four billion years to reach the magnificent existence that we know today. This four-billion-year evolvement from the original ‘Big Bang’ to today’s magnificent World is beyond comprehension. Since the Big Bang, the universe has expanded monotonically for the last 13.8 billion years, giving time to form the universe as observed today. The observable Universe today contains approximately 300 sextillion (3×1023) stars and more than 100 billion (1011) galaxies. Today’s World Population has grown from 15,000 (70,000 years ago), to over seven billion people. This book considers, who we are and what is our future.
