Once we learned Gregory had cancer, we started mapping out the plan of attack to beat what we call the C-Monster. As his caregiver, I decided one of the most important contributions I could make to his journey would be to keep a journal. His family lives in different countries around the world, and most of our close friends lived on the mainland U.S. This was a way for us to keep them updated of his progress, to share encouragement, and to provide some comfort. Additionally, our daughters were only four and two years old. I wanted to document something for them when they grew older. It was very important to me that no matter the outcome, they know that their papa fought back and he fought hard. We decided to publish his journal because we want to share that things that seem overwhelmingly bleak can lift people and change their outlooks by communicating with optimism, faith and positivity.
