this book
as the result of a
lecture series that 1 gave for several
years in Southern California, and
evolved as the result of my
answering the many
questions that 1 have been
asked about my religion and my
people. It has been
patterned
after
a
book that was written by the manager of
a Japanese hotel in Hokkaido Japan who responded to
similar questions by informing the asker that the answers
would be written on the dinner menu for that evening. The
accumulation of these answers resulted in his book
“We Japanese,” thus the title of this book, "We Jews.”
