ACKNOWLEDGEMENT John Igo of San Antonio College, was a noted poet (he published 12 books on poetry), was an Emmy Award winner, had a San Antonio Library Branch named after him, has been called a literary treasure of San Antonio College, and often read my poetry. In those days, we both taught at San Antonio College. He taught English and I taught Economics. His office was on the 5th floor of the Moody Learning Center and mine was on the 7th. As soon as I finished a poem, if I felt it was worthy of him, I would run down the stairwell two floors and let him read it. In general, he said the style of my poetry reminded him of Emily Dickinson. I was so astonished by the comment that I never asked him to explain. If you find a little of Emily in my poetry, and I certainly hope you do, remember John Igo discovered it first. No matter what you meant, John, thank you, thank you so much.
