This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Jesus are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the books of Joshua, 1Samuel and 2Samuel. They are: Jesus: a high priest forever; Saviour; A king to fight our battles; and The destiny of Jesus.
Excerpts:
Jesus: a high priest forever
“Where before we were slaves to sin, we get into a life of freedom; where before we were poor, we become rich, were before we are confined and immobilised, now we begin a walk with God. All these things were the experience of the children of Israel after they ate the Passover lambs in the land of Egypt.”
Saviour
“Jesus, before he was crucified, said that except a grain of wheat (referring to himself) falls to the ground and dies (John 12:24), it abides alone, but after going through the death process, it brings forth much fruits. Jesus’ sacrifice has continually brought forth sons for God in the form of those who have become Christians and Jesus rejoiced that his sacrifice was worth it when he looks at you (if you are a Christian) and me, being citizens of heaven now.”
A king to fight our battles
“The third anointing on Jesus will come up when he will be fully king on the earth as all contrary powers are done away with, except his for 1000 years (Revelation 20:4).”
The destiny of Jesus
“By defeating death Jesus stands as the source of freedom, unending freedom. We were told that with one sacrifice he has saved forever those who are being sanctified (Hebrews 10:14).”
