This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Holiness are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the books of Joshua and Judges. They are: Tongue control; Truth and integrity; Manner of life; and Removing wickedness.
Excerpts:
Tongue control
“It was David who prayed that God, let the words of my mouth be acceptable to you (Psalms 19:14); let that also be your prayer, since God’s help is needed to achieve tongue control.”
Truth and integrity
“On your journey to become a man of integrity, truth should be your companion, hold firmly to it. A good name is more to be desire than great riches (Proverbs 22:1).”
Manner of life
“The other two people mentioned long before their birth in the bible was Josiah (1Kings 13:2, 2Kings 22-23) and Cyrus (Isaiah 44:28, 45:13, 2Chronicles 36:22-23, Ezra 1:1-3). Both were kings, of Judah and of Persia respectively. Both were tools in the hand of God bring the experience of restoration to His people.”
Removing wickedness
“The blood of Jesus serves to remove wickedness from our hearts. So that we are rid of the lust of the flesh, pride of life and the lust of the eyes. We need to embrace the fact that the blood of Jesus brings us into that reality, understanding the love of the father had been shed abroad in our hearts so that we might express the supernatural tendencies of God and be rid of wickedness (Romans 5:5).”
