Trivia: The Good House by Ann Leary

Take the challenge yourself and share it with friends and family for a time of fun!

A 60-year-old real estate agent in a sleepy New England town might sound like a boring protagonist for a book, but The Good House is anything but boring. Once behind the quaint facades of the charming old architecture of residents’ homes, one will find a hotbed of secrets, and Hildy Good is no different from her neighbors in that regard. Divorced, and struggling to compete with national real estate chains overtaking the housing market in the fictional town of Wendover, Hildy, we soon find, has one more secret: she is an alcoholic. But despite her weaknesses, the reader will find herself rooting for Hildy, as she tries to prevent her life from falling apart. She must learn from her mistakes, and also muster up some self control if she is going to get herself out of the messes her poor judgment has gotten her into.
The Good House is Ann Leary’s third book, following a memoir (An Innocent, A Broad) and a novel (Outtakes from a Marriage) about a married woman who discovers her celebrity husband is having an affair. The Good House was met with rave reviews by critics and readers alike, and has been a popular choice for book clubs since it hit the stands in 2013.
