TRAUMA SUCCESS THEN LOVE
A child of former residential school parents Leanne Trudeau leaves the Reserve to complete secondary school and college graduating with degrees in journalism and business administration. Attending Reserve social activities on weekends Leanne becomes romantically involved with a police officer training reserve community police recruits. After an unplanned pregnancy she agrees to marry policeman Bruce Ross and move to the city so their new son can receive off-reserve benefits including a higher standard of education.
Turning unreasonably jealous and unfairly suspicious of Leanne's work activities Bruce demands she leave her job with a major media corporation to become a stay-at-home mother. Becoming domineering while at the same time practicing unfaithfulness to their marriage Bruce is killed by a jealous husband during a rendezvous with a fellow female police officer.
Returning to the post graduation corporate world after a long period of grieving and returning to the Reserve, Leanne reconciles with former media contacts leading to a successful leadership role. She then unexpectedly resumes a former friendship with successful author Nick Fairburn. She assisted Fairburn with research becoming a close friend while working casually at a library during her marriage. The renewed friendship soon becomes a love affair including a strong relationship. Leanne and Nick find t friendship initially strengthens when her son Trevor and Nick's flight attendant daughter Jennifer develop an unexpected relationship. The new situation situation develops into a major issue for both parents when the offspring romance begins to encounter relationship problems. Both parents become involved solving the children's dilemma .
Rising to executive manager of a newly formed media giant designed to control all Canada's media, Leanne faces an attempt on her life by a powerful political group intent on having their own candidate become media president. Using clandestine contacts Nick is instrumental in obstructing and ultimately destroying the organization trying to kill Leanne in an effort to gain control of the media organization intended to save Canada from an international control plot.
After the relationship leading to a successful marriage Leanne and Nick follow separate career paths with Leanne becoming the motivating force behind amalgamation of media in both North America and Europe while Nick retains his involvement in international diplomacy and intelligence communities while simultaneously supporting Leanne's media endeavour.
