Life in the small town of Castile Springs was pretty boring. The only excitement this little town ever saw was bingo day only because it was one hundred percent retirement population, but that was all about to change when Sarah being younger than the rest in the town thought this quiet little town would be a good place to work on her first novel for the summer.
Her first night in the town was pleasant until the owner of the house she was renting from asked her what her plans were. Sarah replied “I am working on my first novel and was looking for a small town for some peace and quiet to finish it.” The owner chimed in and said “Are you sure this is the place you really want to write your book?” “Oh, yes this is the perfect place,” replied Sarah. The owner didn’t like her answer so he said “I’m sure there are other town’s besides this one. This town only has old people residing here, I’m sure you will be bored not having anyone to talk too.” Sarah quietly answered saying “I’m a bit of a bore myself, so I think if I decided to make this my permanent residence I wouldn’t be any bother to anyone.” The owner answered in a low tone of voice saying “You know you can always change your mind in the morning.”
Sarah said “Thanks for your concern, but I really need to start writing, so if you don’t mind closing the door behind you and if I decide otherwise you’ll be the first to know.” “Okay,” replied the owner, in a voice of frustration.
After the owner closed the front door to the house she said to herself, “That man sure is an odd one and not very interested when I said that I may not leave when my novel is finished.”
