Reeve lives a quiet and peaceful life with his brother Karolus and his father in their tiny village nestled deep in a forest of ash trees, but all of that comes to a terrifying halt when a mysterious tower grows around their tiny village of Ashvale, trapping Karolus outside.

When the villagers realise there is no way through or under the mysterious black walls, the only escape is up. With a limited food supply, the village must survive the darkness of the tower long enough for a desperate Reeve to map the way out through the seemingly endless floors of monster infested labyrinths in order to save his brother, but when a perpetual night saturates the villagers an evil creeps into their hearts.

As the pieces come together, the villagers don't know who to turn to. The people divide against each other, and Reeve struggles to remain focused on his original goal. Will all be brought to light in time, or will Ashvale slowly suffocate under the weight of the tower?
