Timmy the Fish is about a small perch bullied by his older peers at school. When Timmy starts to swim at the back of the school for fear of being bullied again, he befriends a Largemouth Bass named Brutus who shares his secret to overcoming the bullies without resorting to violence.
Timmy the Fish has an important anti-bullying message delivered through bright and colorful, engaging illustrations. An excellent teaching tool for parents and teachers, the book opens up the communication lines, providing thought provoking discussion time with children. Kids learn how to respond to a bully, whether they're the victim or witness another victim in turmoil. At the same time, it also helps them to recognize their own bully-like behavior. Even adults learn from the book's positive message in this new cyber bullying crazed world. There is a message for everyone inside of Timmy the Fish.
The author and illustrator were victims of relentless bullying growing up. This book held dear to their hearts and felt it was necessary to get this positive message to every child. Unfortunately, the author, Sean never saw his dream of being a published author come true. In 2000, he was killed in a tragic car accident at the young age of 25. With the family's permission, the illustrator then took it upon herself to make his dream a reality and self-published Timmy the Fish in 2007 and again in 2012. Paperback and ebook editions are available at most online retailers.
