The Way The second book in a series of three. In The Way, Susans imagination takes us further into the darker side of this society. The planet Ethra was destroyed following many years of abuse and neglect. Ending finally its total destruction by mankind. Emerging some centuries later from the shelter of Ethras womb, the new societys scientists and medical practitioners were faced with difficult problems to resolve such as the elimination of grotesque birth defects in new born infants, their tiny bodies twisted and deformed, their lungs and hearts incapable of functioning for more the a few moments after birth. Using genetic engineering the scientist worked on preventing the incidents of the past being repeated. The new society would be protected from the mistakes of the past. A damaged and broken building was discovered Torn and faded documents and many other records were collected and reassembled. From these remnants the leaders of the new society formulated a code of conduct. This formed the foundation of a new society. Upon the crumbling corner wall of the building was a broken blue and white sign it simply read Way. The new society adopted the simplicity of the signs message and embraced the code of conduct calling it The Way.
