Kuno Meyer (20 December 1858 11 October 1919) was born in Germany, but was a distinguished Celtic scholar, whose translations of the ancient Celtic manuscripts were cited by Lady Augusta Gregory, William Butler Yeats, and other members of the Irish Literary Revival of the early 20th century. This is Kuno Meyer's translation of the old Irish saga, the Voyage of Bran. One day, while walking, Bran is lulled to sleep by beautiful music. When he awakens, he finds a beautiful silver branch next to him. He brings it home, and is directed by an Otherworld woman to sail to the Lane of Women across the sea. He gathers a company and sets sail. When he finally returns home after what he thought was a years absence, he finds that he and his companions were unknown to the inhabitants except in legend. When one of the company jumps ashore, he immediately turns to ashes. So Bran relates his adventures and sets sail again, never to be heard from again. This edition of The Voyage of Bran is specially formatted with a Table of Contents and pictures of Ireland and characters from Irish folklore.
