Joseph Rudyard Kipling was an English poet, novelist and short-story writer and, as often regarded, a major innovator in the art of the short story. He became famous because of his poems of British soldiers in India and stories for children. Kipling’s most distinguished works include “The Jungle Book” (1894), “Kim” (1901) and short stories like “The Man Who Would Be King” (1888). His books for children became classics of children’s literature. The story goes about the author and a friend of him named Blawkins. They were discussing an interesting little piece of misinformation which the former had printed in his newspaper. It turned out that it was an arresting quotation that was repeated by newspapers around the world and returned to the author after more than a year. What consequences will he face? Find the answer by reading this exciting story.
