Most of the history of Queen Nefertiti and her husband, Pharaoh Akhenaten, is covered in a mysterious fog. Their record is thinly stated; many questions are wanting explanations. The largest of those is how... how was it possible for that ancient couple to change traditions that had existed for thousands of years of an old religion that perhaps was as old as the great flood? And, they almost did it within one lifetime! The first book in this series was, "The Sun's Eye - A Pharaoh's Search For Truth", and my romantic ebook of Akhenaten and Nefertiti written as mostly a biography plus starting in their youth...plus from the points of view of 4 people.

This next part is an exciting follow-up of the historical account from the lips of Queen Nefertiti as she is expelled from Egypt by the High Priest. After Akhenaten had died, she bravely took his powerful position but ultimately failed in that task. Her administrators and relatives that supported her regeim left their new city in order to hide and seek solace from relatives. Her new religion was a cult according to the old priesthood. Nefertiti's removal was nearly a peaceful transation and she faced the world in a state of shock, but not alone. The queen decided to travelled to Cadiz with a 3 ship fleet... every vessel packed with refugees and valuable possessions. That description reflects some of the discomforts that refugees face today.

Nefertiti finds a new love and a new home. Her thinking changes about many things. However, she misses her young children but holds on to hope; as the last chapter indicates, there is truth in the statement, 'Once a Queen, always a Queen!"
