Ned Sweeney is a washed up writer. A wanna-be who has poured his life away chasing a dream at the expense of family, friends, everything. Deeming himself a failure on every level, at forty years of age, Ned Sweeney is going to kill himself.

On the night of his birthday, sitting in the bathtub with a blade to his wrist, Ned's final moments are interrupted by Sinéad - his irritating and fast-living redheaded neighbour whom he has secretly lusted after since she moved in next door.

Ned is coaxed from his bath, and the life he knew is blown wide open as Sinéad takes him on a rollercoaster ride through the sinister underbelly of Dublin City's crime world.

He might have dodged suicide that night, but Sinéad has hauled him out of his own sorry existence and into a tornado of gangsters, drug deals, and murder. Ned is suddenly embroiled in a world more sinister and dangerous than any he could have concocted in his fiction. Suicide is no longer the solution...his problems have grown bigger than that.

On the run from both sides of the law, with Sinéad at his side and nowhere to go, Ned finds a new world he'd never known existed, and maybe even a place for himself in it. But for Ned and Sinéad, the price may be more than they can afford to pay.

"The Suicide Of Ned Sweeney" is a rollercoaster ride through an Irish criminal landscape, and one man's search for hope and redemption in a wasted life.
