Poverty-stricken as a child, Ana Diaz was lured into Texas gang culture as a teenager, joining the notorious Las Chicas gang. Her crack-addicted mother abandoned her at birth, condemning her to a life of scuttling between foster homes, under the guidance of Harlingen police detective Gabby. But Gabby was unable to deflect Ana from a life of drugs and crime with Las Chicas.

Just as Ana’s downward spiral plumbed its lowermost depths, she was finally awoken by a gangland hit gone wrong, taking the brave decision to run from Las Chicas, and testify against evil gang leader Lilly. Lilly was sentenced to life without parole at the Huntsville Correctional Facility. With Gabby’s guidance, Ana went on to pursue a promising medical career, giving birth to son Jimmy.

But now, Lilly has engineered a clever escape from prison, and is desperate for revenge, in conjunction with her Mexican gangster brother....
