Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Lang was also a prolific author of works both fiction and non.
The Stones of Plouhinec is a fairy tale, included in the Andrew Lang’s Lilac Fairy Book. Plouhinec is small coast town. It was a peaceful place and its people lives were filled with simple daily worries. Among those people there lived Rozennik, a pretty girl. She wanted to fling a husband from her town-mates, but she cared not for them all. Except for one, Bernez, an old friend of hers whom she grew up with. But there was an unpleasant obstacle – Bernez was poor.
