This book uses the stories of people in the Bible that may not be so popular, but are heroes that deserve our attention. They are the people we skip while looking for the famous heroes. We only read their stories in connection with the stories of the well pronounced characters. But we hardly take time to know their input in the making of the famous biblical heroes we often read about. Therefore, as you read through, let it remind you of many unsung heroes in your life. Remember those in the past, and those that are presently working hard to make you what you have become. Their services may appear so insignificant, that you can easily take them for granted. Some of them could have even been seeking to make their views known in the affairs of your life, but you often shout them down. When you read this book with an open mind, your eyes would suddenly be opened to these numerous ‘Sons of Encouragement’ that encompass you.
Our subordinates at work; our domestic staff; the police men on the road; the social workers; the teachers of our children; our car mechanics; the small shop owners down the street; the market women and men; our driver; the street cleaners; the gate men; and so on; all these have formed a support system to make our life stable.
The list could be unending. We all have them around us. Men and women, who unknown to the world, work so hard behind the scene that we might be made known. Our parents could fall in this group. If not for them, we would have not gone past our elementary school. How hard did they have to work to make us believe we have the brain to take schooling? What about those teachers? They never won an award, but they trained us to become award winners. When we stand on the podium to be decorated with medals, nobody would know that our ‘Sons of Encouragement’ are somewhere in the crowd.
Sport stars could say same of their coaches and trainers. Likewise the superstars in the entertainment industry; remember someone that saw that flicker of stardom in you and pushed you forward until you got to where you are now. There was someone that gave you the platform to preach your first message; today you are a world famous preacher. Simply put, this book would make you remember the people you often take for granted, because their good works often go unnoticed.
