I was raised in Essexville, Michigan, with my two brothers and two sisters. My exposure to Christianity was because of my mother, who took us to a Community Baptist church most Sundays. When I was eleven years of age, I heard a clear voice say that He would give me until Im thirty-five. There was no one around, so I thought my mind was playing tricks on me.

Years later, as I approached the age of thirty-five, it seemed that everywhere I went, someone was sharing the Gospel with me. I listened to what they said, but I thought I was already a believer, since my wife and I went to church almost every Sunday.

I started to read the Bible, beginning at page one. Many days later, as I read in the book of Isaiah, Jesus Christ became alive, and then I could understand the Scriptures. I was thirty-five at that time, and then God reminded me of the experience I had at the age of eleven!

The years that followed included the activity of various offices within the church, and different cabinet positions in the Gideons International organization. I pray that God will use this book to strengthen the believers and assist others to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
