"The Seven Churches of Revelation: What Do They Stand For?” is an e-book written from the Book of Revelation. Jesus began by dictating seven letters to seven churches. From Church history these were seven actual Churches in cities that existed in the Roman Province of Asia, now western Turkey. The term Church is both familiar and misunderstood by most. Many believe that the Church is a building, but its meaning has nothing to do with a building. The word Church means called-out ones, chosen ones, belonging to the Lord, the body of Christ, and the bride of Christ. The Church consists of a body of believers known as people, who collectively form the Church and who meet in a building.
We, the body of believers meaning the Church must constantly remind ourselves that the Church is people: individuals who share a common bond and who belong to Jesus and are called to be in a relationship with each other to make up the Church. We need to understand that Jesus Christ is the one who gives the Church life, meaning, and purpose, and without Him there is no Church. Jesus is not coming back for a bride (the church of believers) who does not love Him. He is coming to take home His bride who loves Him wholeheartedly.
The message to the seven churches is timeless. The churches are faced with the choice of a blessing or a curse. From the outside everything seems alright, but God knows what is on the inside.
