William Morris was an English novelist, poet, translator and socialist activist. Morris began publishing poetry and short stories in the Oxford and Cambridge Magazine. He founded these magazines with his friends during the period when he was at university. It is a fantasy novel. It has a unique imaginary world with an element of the supernatural, and thus the precursor of much of present-day fantasy literature. The story happened in a small German settlement.
